Dear Penny Hoarders,
It’s been more than 14 months since I launched ThePennyHoarder.com and what was once just a hobby for me has quickly turned into a full-time operation read by 10,000′s of readers every month. The growth of this blog has been incredible, but I feel very strongly that the look of a website needs to evolve and keep pace with its growth.
A few months ago I started working with the wonderful folks at BigSeaDesign.com with the goal of giving The Penny Hoarder a more professional look and a more navigable site design. Today, we rollout the first of those changes – a new logo, website header, and a redesigned Facebook/Twitter page.
I absolutely want your thoughts on the changes we’ve made and I value any feedback that you might have. We’ll be tinkering with the logo & header over the coming weeks based off of your thoughts….

We’re still a couple of months away from releasing the full site redesign, but I can wait to show you some of the things we are working on. In addition to improving the ascetics and layout, we’re working on adding new features like a job board so that Penny Hoarders can share local opportunities to make extra money. We are also planning to partner with a major sweepstakes site in order to bring you the latest weird and wacky contests from around the Web in our new “Win Money” category. I’ll be sure to keep you updated on these features as they roll out….
Finally, I want to thank all of our wonderfully loyal readers. This blog has grown to levels I never would have imagined. It makes me so proud of what we’ve been able to build together. My first year of blogging was amazing and I know that this year will be even better!
So, with that being said…I usually sign off by saying “Good luck Penny Hoarders!” but today I just want to simply say “Thank you.”

I love the friendly little logo, makes me want to have a cool logo too!
I’m new here, but I do vaguely remember the previous design. I think this is a huge upgrade. I really like the header color and the logo. Looking forward to seeing the other site improvements. It sounds like you’ve been very busy. Congrats on the massive following in such a short time.
Love the new look. As I look at it right now, the adsense is covering the (earning, invest, business, win, sell) tabs. You may want to change that so as not to be accused of forcing readers to click on your adsense. Other than that, awesome new look! Good luck

I like the logo a lot. Good job it is a “fun” logo
I lke the new look much better and the layout does look more professional. I also had a problem when I opened my email newsletter, the ad covered what I was trying to read. Luckily though I have you saved in my favorites so I just zoomed on over through that.
I want to take another moment and say thank you for all your great research. I applied for the house advertisement from Braniacs from Mars, and getting ready to make money off of my rabbit’s “poo” (great fertilizer!) ideas that I wouldnt have known about if it wasnt for you! Thank you a million times over!

Got your email and replied. I use IE9 to read my yahoo mail. Im sure you’ll get it fixed!
it looks great, however the newsletter format needs to be looked at. the ads and stories are on top of each other on the far right side with a blank box on the left.
Oy! Thanks for the heads up – I just sent you an email with a couple of questions. Hopefully we’ll have it fixed for next week!

It looks great, but the posts need to be proofread more closely. Maybe its because I’m an English teacher, but there are at least 5 typos that I catch in this post alone that bother me– 3 are spelling errors. If it doesn’t bother anyone else, ignore me. This is simply food for thought.
The site looks great, the Newsletter format is horrible. Everything is pushed to the right hand side of the page and sitting on top of each other.

Rargh – that’s so frustrating.
Can you let me know how you access your email? Which web browser or software do you use? It seems like most folks got the correct version, but a few have had this mashed up one. I appreciate you helping me investigate…We’ll try to have it all sorted out for next week.
