This Friday, May 15, is National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day. And just like other National [Insert Food Here] Day, like National Pretzel Day and National Pancake Day, it means the chance to snag some yummy freebies.
Here’s where you can score some free food:
DoubleTree by Hilton
With a whole slew of cookie-related freebies up its sleeves, the hotel chain is definitely spearheading the National Cookie Day celebrations.
Check in at a DoubleTree by Hilton hotel on May 15 and receive a free hot chocolate chip cookie, courtesy of the CookieCare initiative. Non-travelers are welcome to stop in too, as you don’t need reservations to the hotel to claim a free cookie. (Here’s where to find the hotel closest to you — and yes, you can get this deal at any DoubleTree by Hilton, anywhere in the world.)
The CookieCare team will also be holding several surprise giveaways throughout the day in locations like Virgin Airlines check-in counters and lounges and Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car counters, as well as stopping by local businesses throughout the U.S. to deliver free cookies.
You can also win a CookieCare package for yourself by using the hashtag #CookieCare throughout the day on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. (You can tag the hotel @DoubleTree.)
For something a little different, check out Gigi’s Cupcakes, where you can get a Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough gourmet cupcake, which includes a cookie embedded in the frosting, for only $2 on May 15 (it’s normally $3.50). Select locations will also be handing out free chocolate cookies with any purchase.
While you’re there, you can take advantage of a special Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Mini Cupcakes deal from May 15 to 22 that’s good both in-store and online: buy one dozen of these cupcakes and get the second dozen for 50% off.
Full Moon BBQ
This Alabama-based restaurant is giving away a free Half-Moon Cookie with any in-store purchase on what they’re calling “Cookie Craze Day.”Made from scratch with chocolate chips and Southern pecans, then dipped in melted milk chocolate, this award-winning cookie is definitely worth checking out.
It’s not a freebie, but it is a limited-time flavor, so it’s worth noting that Baskin Robbins will be offering its flavor of the month, “Mom’s Makin Cookies,” throughout May to honor both Mother’s Day and National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day.
Your Turn: Will you be celebrating National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day (either by snagging one of these freebies, or baking a batch at home)? If you see any more holiday deals, let us know in the comments!
