Johna Strickland joined The Penny Hoarder after working as an editor and reporter for 15 years at newspapers in Oregon, North Carolina and Georgia. Her work in photography, writing and design has been recognized by the Georgia Press Association. She also worked in medical marketing for several years, specializing in planning search-engine optimized content. Her favorite way to save money is do-it-yourself home renovation projects. She holds degrees from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College and lives in Idaho with B, a happy, hungry husky mix.
