The only thing better than a burrito is a burrito you don’t have to pay for — or sharing a freebie with a friend.
And since Chipotle just announced (another) free-food initiative, you could easily be on your way to both!
Starting Oct. 11, hungry Chipotle fans can nab a BOGO entree deal just by playing an easy matching memory game, inspired by the company’s viral “Love Story” animated short.
How to Score a Free BOGO Entree Coupon from Chipotle
If you haven’t seen it in a while, check out the animated “Love Story” below — if only for the sweet acoustic rendition of “I Want it That Way,” covered by Alabama Shakes singer Brittany Howard and My Morning Jacket’s Jim James.
The sweet little film tells the tale of Ivan and Evie, who get caught up in a juice-stand rivalry gone wrong. Eventually, they see the error of their big, industrially processed ways — and find a new path forward, together.
Once you’re done surreptitiously sniffling, check out the game.
Just like our adorable protagonists, you’ll have to avoid artificial additives if you want to get your BOGO entree.
If you can successfully match all the tasty, real ingredients on the cards — and avoid the penalties for clicking on artificial ickies — you’ll be prompted to provide your name and phone number. Then, a coupon for a BOGO entree will arrive via SMS.
You could receive up to four text messages as part of the offer, and each will be billed as they usually are in your cell phone plan, so heads up if you’re nearing your monthly limit!
Then, grab a friend — or transform an enemy of your own into one — and head to your local Chipotle to chow down.
I played the game on Oct. 11, and my coupon expires Nov. 30 at 11:59 p.m. CT, but your mileage may vary.
All I know is, I can’t wait to try out Chipotle’s new chorizo option, and now, I have a great excuse!
Your Turn: Who will you share your “Love Story” BOGO entree with?
We have corrected the date this writer’s coupon expires, since Nov. 31 doesn’t exist.
