One estimate suggests the cost to raise a child from infancy to adulthood has reached $245,340!
That’s a lot of cheddar, especially because most of us are already on a tight budget.
So we’ve scoured the web and put together a list of the best freebies for new and expecting moms. Sure, you could buy this stuff at the store, but free is so much better.
1. Free Diapers
Some estimates suggest the average child will go through $2,100 worth of diapers before they finish potty-training. Crazy, right?
Thankfully there are quite a few resources for free baby diapers. Here are our favorites:
- Honest – Fill out this quick form for seven free premium, eco-friendly diapers (you pay for shipping).
- Simply Right – It seems to vary, but the company sent my family five free diapers.
- National Diaper Bank Network – If things are really tough, this non-profit can set you up with a free supply of donated diapers.
2. $60 in Free Stuff From Target
Target shows its appreciation for what new moms are going through by rewarding you when you create your registry with them.
When you set up your gift registry, Target will give you a gift bag with more than $60 in coupons and select samples. My gift package included more than $50 in coupons for brands like Pampers, Honest, Liz Lange and even Starbucks.
And I got these free samples:
- Aquaphor diaper rash cream
- Olly prenatal multivitamin
- MAM pacifier
- Lansinoh breastfeeding storage bags
- The Honest Company diapers and wipes
- Pampers wipes
- Philips Avent natural bottle
3. Free Nursing Cover From Udder Covers
Visit the Udder Covers website and choose from any of its super cute nursing covers, valued at $34.95 or less. At checkout, use code PENNY1 and only pay for shipping.
The adorable patterns make it a definite winner. This makes an amazing low-cost gift for anyone on a budget.
4. Free Baby Leggings
They’re almost like yoga pants for babies.
Head over to the Baby Leggings site and throw a pair in your cart. At checkout, just use the code PENNY1 and you’ll only have to pay for shipping.
5. Free Carseat Canopy
Want to keep your baby covered while you’re running errands?
Carseat Canopy is giving away canopies and there are a ton of cool patterns to choose from. Make sure you use PENNY1 at checkout — you’ll only pay for shipping.
6. Free Nursing Pillow
These nursing pillows help make nursing a lot more comfortable and come in a variety of prints.
They’re usually $39.95, but if you head to the Nursing Pillows site and use the code PENNY1 at checkout, you’ll only be on the hook for shipping.
7. Free Baby Sling
It can be exhausting carrying a baby around all day. They might not weigh much, but they still get heavy. A baby sling can help give your arms a break.
Plus, they come in a bunch of different stylish prints. Pick one out at the Seven Everyday Slings site and add it to your cart. Use the code PENNY1 at checkout and you’ll only pay shipping.
8. Free Coupons
A number of brands have coupons for expecting moms (and many of them are for free products!). Here are a few of our favorites:
- Enfamil (It’ll send you $250 in coupons and free stuff when you sign up.)
9. Earn Free Stuff with Pampers Rewards
Join the Pampers Gifts to Grow program and they’ll send you free diapers as reward for your loyalty to the Pampers brand.
Every time you buy a box of Pampers, look for the code inside the box and enter it into the website above. Those points can be saved up and later redeemed for diapers, baby food and toys.
10. Free StrongMoms Program from Similac
Similac offers all kinds of goodies when you sign up for its StrongMoms program: a free messenger bag, milk storage bags and bottles, full-size formula, product coupons and prenatal samples.
The StrongMoms program also offers one of the best free gifts available right now: a free photo book from Shutterfly valued at $34.
Sign up for the StrongMoms program here. Many of the free gifts are redeemable at your doctor’s office, local hospital or by mail.
The coupons work just like any other manufacturer’s, and we’ve heard the formula vouchers are easy to redeem through your doctor’s office.
The Shutterfly offer is the easiest to redeem. It’s a digital coupon sent right to your email. Just sign up, look for the email and follow the link to get your photo book.
11. Free Subscription to American Baby
Many mothers — especially first-time moms — are eager to get their hands on any baby-related material.
Add a free monthly subscription of American Baby to your reading list. Sign up online and get parenting and pregnancy tips shipped right to your door.
The best part about this offer is it’s completely free — no shipping fees or obligations to purchase.
We hope you enjoy these freebies! I’ll keep my eye out for new ones, and we’ll update this page as we find them.
