Do you get a Christmas bonus? If so, you have even more reason to look forward to this time of year than the rest of us.
Extra money is always awesome — but it’s especially helpful when you’ve just crossed off the last person on your list and your wallet’s looking a little less than jolly.
But how big was the check your boss generously cut you?
Hilcorp Gives $100K Christmas Bonuses — to Everyone
If you work at Hilcorp Energy, you might be able to say “six figures.”
The oil industry’s in a record slump, but this energy exploration and production enterprise distributed hefty bonuses to every one of its 1,380 employees, regardless of position or level.
Although the checks varied in amount based on tenure, they were all still pretty close to the $100K mark.
This isn’t the first time Hilcorp’s provided generous winter bonuses to employees for reaching company goals. In 2010, staff members got to choose between a $50,000 vehicle voucher or a $35,000 check.
As a Penny Hoarder, I was especially happy to hear Hilcorp receptionist, Amanda Thompson, tell Fox 26 her plans for the windfall.
Instead of spending it on a dream vacation or shopping spree, she’s keeping it in her bank account for those times “when life happens.”
Christmas came early! Houston company Hilcorp Energy has rewarded its employees a six figure holiday bonus! No matter the position, each employee received a check. Scarlett Fakhar FOX 26 brings us the story.–http://bit.ly/1M2mrIY

Want to Up Your Bonus Game?
Although Hilcorp isn’t hiring right now (I love my job, but come on, I had to look!), you’ll definitely want to keep an eye on their careers page.
You may not be surprised to learn that they’ve appeared on Fortune 100’s “Best Companies to Work For” list for three consecutive years — and their 2015 list of 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials.
