Apex CoVantage, a company specializing in editorial, data conversion and content-enhancement solutions for publishers, is hiring remote freelance copy editors to make line edits for its academic nonfiction books. There are two types of positions open — one is a general copy editor gig and the other has a focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) subjects. The STEM-specific job requires the applicant have a bachelor’s in a STEM field.

Applicants for this position must:

• Have a Bachelor of Arts degree
• Have knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style, the American Psychological Association Publication Manual, and other style guides
• Pass a short copy editing test
• Have experience using Microsoft Word
• Have experience working in academic publishing
• Be bilingual (a plus)
