Looking for a new side gig?

The country’s major cities are filled with incredible restaurants and busy people.

And DoorDash pays delivery drivers to connect them — up to $25/hour in many cases.

How to Make Money with DoorDash

As a “Dasher” with the service, you work as an independent contractor, delivering meals to people who request them through the company’s website and mobile app.

You’ll set your own hours and work as much or little as you want, meaning how much you can make is up to you.

All you need to get started is an insured vehicle or a bicycle and a smartphone. You should be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.

The company is currently looking for Dashers in more than 300 cities around the U.S.

Jose Neri, a former Dasher in California, reports on Quora earning $500 to $600 a week working just lunches and dinners.

“When I dashed I would average two to two-and-a-half deliveries per hour,” he wrote in a forum.

Depending on the day, DoorDash says Dashers can earn up to $25 an hour. If you drive full-time, that’s over $1,000 a week!

You’ll earn at least a $6 fee for each delivery, plus keep 100% of your tips.

Compared with similar services, drivers on Reddit report better rates delivering with DoorDash. And they like that they can keep tips!

For Dashers wondering whether you can count on users to tip, Neri said, “For the most part, the majority of DoorDash users tip anywhere between 10% to 15% in most cases.”
