3. Abuelo’s

Get a “free gift” on your birthday when you join Club Applebee’s.
6. Arby’s
Sign up for an Arby’s Rewards account and get a free dessert on your birthday. You’ll have the choice of an Arby’s regular shake, a turnover or a cookie. You’ll have to claim your birthday freebie through an online order using the ‘Order Ahead’ feature, then pick it up in the restaurant. There’s no purchase necessary, and you have 30 days to claim your treat.
7. Auntie Anne’s
Download the Pretzel Perks app and get a free pretzel after your first purchase of $1 or more. Plus, you’ll get a free pretzel on your birthday as long as you’ve spent at least $10 over the past year.

There are three options to choose from if you spent less than $350 in the past year, but there are four options if you spent $350 or more. Regardless of membership level, you can opt to swap out your gift for 250 bonus rewards points.

As an Ultamate Rewards member, you’ll get your choice of one of four different free birthday gifts. If you’ve spent enough money to be a Platinum ($500) or Diamond ($1,200) member, you get an additional $10 coupon.

Barnes & Noble has two membership tiers: Rewards and Premium. Rewards membership is free to join, but there’s no birthday benefit.
Premium costs $39.99/year to join, but does give you a “special offer” for your birthday. If you load your child’s birthday onto your account, they’ll get a treat from the cafe and a free Paper Source craft on their big day. There are other perks to the paid membership, too, like 10% off most purchases, free drink upgrades at the cafe, and early access to special editions and store events.
