Volkswagen agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve claims that its Atlas vehicles are equipped with defective second row seat latches.
The settlement benefits current and former owners and lessees of model year 2018 to 2024 Volkswagen Atlas vehicles.
According to the class action lawsuit, 2018 Volkswagen Atlas vehicles were equipped with a defective second row seat latch that can come unlatched while driving. This defect allegedly poses a significant risk for injury.
The deadline to file a claim with the settlement is Aug. 4, 2025.

$19M QuoteWizard text message class action settlement
QuoteWizard agreed to a $19 million class action lawsuit settlement to resolve allegations that it sent unsolicited telemarketing texts in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
The settlement benefits individuals who received more than one telemarketing text from QuoteWizard within any 12-month period while their telephone numbers were listed on the National Do Not Call Registry.
Plaintiffs in the TCPA class action lawsuit claim that QuoteWizard repeatedly contacted them with unsolicited telemarketing texts that they had never consented to. TCPA requires businesses to get express written permission before contacting consumers with such text messages.
The deadline to file a claim with the settlement is Aug. 5, 2025.

$6.5M TitleMax, InstaLoan, TitleBucks data breach class action settlement
TMX Finance agreed to pay $6.5 million to resolve claims that it failed to prevent a data breach that compromised consumer information between 2022 and 2023.
The settlement benefits individuals whose personal information was compromised in the TMX Finance data breach that occurred between Feb. 3 and Feb. 14, 2023.
According to the data breach class action lawsuit, the cyberattack compromised sensitive data including Social Security numbers and financial account numbers. Plaintiffs claim that TMX could have prevented the data breach by implementing reasonable cybersecurity measures to protect consumer data.
The deadline to file a claim with the settlement is Aug. 6, 2025.
TracFone Wireless data breach class action settlement
TracFone Wireless agreed to a data breach class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims that it failed to protect consumer data from a 2021 cyberattack.
The settlement benefits anyone whose information was accessed in the TracFone data breach that occurred in December 2021.
Plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit claim that the 2021 data breach compromised their data due to TracFone Wireless’ failure to implement reasonable cybersecurity measures. According to the data breach victims, these measures could have prevented the cyberattack that stole their data.
The deadline to file a claim with the settlement is Aug. 7, 2025.
$150M GM excessive oil consumption class action settlement
GM Agreed to pay $150 million to resolve claims that some Chevrolet and GMC vehicles had defective engines that consume too much oil.
The settlement benefits California, Idaho or North Carolina residents who currently own or lease or previously owned or leased 2011-2014 Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL vehicles equipped with LC9 engines.
According to the class action lawsuit, certain Chevrolet and GMC vehicles were built with defective engines that consume excessive amounts of oil. GM allegedly knew about this oil consumption issue but failed to warn consumers.
The deadline to file a claim with the settlement is Aug. 8, 2025.
$4.5M GameStop Facebook privacy class action settlement
GameStop agreed to a $4.5 million settlement to resolve allegations that it shared consumer information with Facebook in violation of federal law.
The settlement benefits individuals who purchased a video game from GameStop’s website between Aug. 18, 2020, and April 7, 2025, and who had a public Facebook profile using their actual name at the time of purchase.
GameStop allegedly collected user information on its website via a tracking pixel and then shared that information with Facebook without user consent. Plaintiffs in the case claim that this information sharing violated the federal Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA).
The deadline to file a claim with the settlement is Aug. 15, 2025.

GM defective shifter class action settlement
GM agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve claims that certain Chevrolet and GMC vehicles were sold with defective shifters that caused issues while parking vehicles.
The settlement benefits initial purchasers and lessees of 2017-2019 GMC Acadia, 2019 Chevrolet Blazer, 2016-2019 Chevrolet Malibu, 2018-2019 Chevrolet Traverse or 2016-2019 Chevrolet Volt vehicles in Ohio or initial purchasers and lessees of 2017-2018 GMC Acadia vehicles in Tennessee.
According to the class action lawsuit, the Chevrolet and GMC vehicles were equipped with defective shifters that caused a “shift to park” issue and prevented drivers from being able to turn off their cars. GM allegedly knew about this problem but failed to warn drivers or take responsibility for repairs.

The Criterion Collection agreed to a $4.5 million settlement to resolve claims that it shared subscriber information with third parties in violation of privacy laws.
The settlement benefits individuals who were registered users or had a subscription to the Criterion Channel service between Sept. 27, 2022, and Dec. 27, 2024, and who watched a pre-recorded video through the service.
Plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit claim that The Criterion Collection collected information from its users and shared this data with Meta, Twilio and other third parties. Consumers allege that this violated privacy laws since they did not consent to information sharing when purchasing a The Criterion Collection subscription.

Multi-million dollar Gerber formula class action settlement
Gerber agreed to a multi-million dollar settlement to resolve claims that it falsely advertised its formula products as able to reduce the risk of allergies.
The settlement benefits consumers who purchased Gerber Good Start Gentle infant formula in Florida or New York between Oct. 10, 2011, and April 23, 2016.
According to the class action lawsuit, Gerber falsely advertised its Good Start Gentle infant formula as able to reduce the risk of allergies in infants. In reality, Gerber allegedly has no scientific evidence to back up this claim.

Torrid agreed to a $10 million settlement to resolve claims that it advertised deceptive sale offers on its websites to trick consumers into purchasing.
The settlement benefits consumers who purchased products on Torrid.com while residing in Oregon, California or Washington between Jan. 1, 2020, and Feb. 18, 2025.
Plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit claim that Torrid deceptively advertised discounts on its websites. According to consumers, they would not have purchased products from Torrid if they knew that these advertisements were not true.
