How I Made $25 Last Night on

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with sites like Swagbucks.

On the one hand, if you use “get-paid-to” sites correctly, it can be an easy way to make a few extra bucks. On the other hand, I hate how so many people are tricked into spending hours clicking and answering surveys only to earn 42 cents, or some other ridiculously low number.

The secret to these programs is stay away from the low paying assignments and to try and cash out as quickly as possible. Of course, if you do enjoy clicking around while watching tv, it’s possible to also use Swagbucks to make money answering surveys, watching videos, and clicking the links to their partner sites. You can even make money playing games, but don’t expect to earn more than a few cents.

My strategy has always been to go after the free trial offers. They offer the biggest payout and they only take a few minutes of my time to complete. I did 4 of them last night and it earned me 3,250 SBs, enough for a free $25 in my Paypal account. Here’s what I signed up for…

1. Netflix – I signed up for the free 30 day trial and earned 675 Swagbucks

2. Gamefly – I signed up for the service. This one cost me $7.99, but I’m also a member of which is offering a $10 rebate this month if you make a purchase at Gamefly. I pocketed 900 SBs, plus I’ll end up making $2.01 from the overage on the rebate.

3. FreeCreditScore – I earned 900 SBs for taking a look at my credit report and signing up for a free trial of credit monitoring. Thankfully there have been no changes to my credit report since I last checked. 🙂

4. – Pocketed another 675 SBs for signing up for their free trial.

The cool thing about Swagbucks is that my account was credited almost instantaneously so I was able to cash-out quickly.

As far as the trial offers go, be sure you mark the end date on your calendar so you remember to make a decision about whether to keep the service before you are charged for it.

Good Luck Penny Hoarders!
