Tampa Bay Times partners with The Penny Hoarder to publish personal finance advice column Dear Penny

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (July 26, 2018) — Starting July 29, the Tampa Bay Times will publish The Penny Hoarder’s Dear Penny personal finance advice column. The column will appear Sundays inside the business section and will feature a question-and-answer format. Written by The Penny Hoarder’s personal finance expert Lisa Rowan, Dear Penny will address tricky money dilemmas submitted by readers.

The Penny Hoarder founded the Dear Penny series in early 2018 to help break down the stigma around talking about money and to further engage its readers with fun, approachable advice. An online publication, The Penny Hoarder uses a variety of digital platforms to tell stories about real people and share actionable money-making and savings tips that make a difference in readers’ budgets. This partnership represents the company’s first foray into print.

“We’re excited to collaborate with one of the nation’s best newspapers to publish this column,” said The Penny Hoarder’s managing editor, John Schlander. “Dear Penny has really been striking a chord with readers.”

For the Tampa Bay Times, the partnership will allow the paper to provide additional content on the key area of personal finance to its readers.

“We’re looking forward to giving our readers a fresh voice and new perspective on personal finance issues and saving money, which we know is very important to them,” said Jennifer Orsi, Times managing editor. “We think this partnership with The Penny Hoarder will pay dividends to all involved.”
