This Allstate Customer Service Job Pays $17/Hr and Comes With Benefits

This Allstate gig is available in all states — provided you have the right home-office setup.

The insurance company is hiring an experienced customer service associate to field inbound customer questions and requests. At least three years of related customer service experience is required.

The starting date is slated for Sept. 14. The training schedule runs earlier than the normal shifts: 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday to Friday on Central time. After training, the schedule changes to 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. CST, Monday to Friday.

The position is based out of the Lincoln, Nebraska, call center, hence Central time. Nearby residents can work onsite. But the position is also available remotely to candidates who meet certain work-from-home requirements (see below).

Pay starts at $17 an hour, and a benefits package is available the first day of employment.

Customer Service Associate at Allstate

Responsibilities include:

  • Handling a variety of inbound customer inquiries related to insurance policies, rules and regulations.
  • Inputting customer request information into a database for cross-department use.
  • Responding to customer requests via fax, email and voicemail within one business day.

Applicants for this position must have:

  • At least three years of related call-center experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • A home-office that meets the certain requirements:
    • High speed internet: hard-wired, 50 Mbps download, 5 Mbps upload.
    • Quiet, private workspace that can fit a desktop computer and two monitors (which are provided by Allstate).
  • Some post-secondary education (preferred).
  • A background in insurance with health-insurance terminology (preferred).
