Believe it or not, some people make thousands of dollars every year by trying out new medication, getting tested for allergies, or by testing new x-ray technology.

Clinical trials are held all over the country and are a necessary part of getting new medical technology approved by the FDA.

And if you’re willing to become one of these human guinea pig, we’ve found four of these trials that will pay you up to $15,000! Seriously.

1. NASA Will Pay You $5,000 to Lie in Bed

Finally I’ll have an excuse for lying in bed all day and watching “Law & Order” marathons! The folks over at NASA are paying $5,000 per month to participants of their bed rest study. The study lasts for 87 days and is designed to help them research the effects of zero gravity space travel on the human body.

The study takes place at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. And, in addition to this being a cool way to help the NASA program, this study could fatten your bank account by more than $15,000.

Here’s the full run-down.

2. Do You Have High Cholesterol? Earn Up to $1,000.

If you have high cholesterol, you may be eligible to participate in a study that pays up to $1,000, plus pays for free medical care and prescription drugs. Pretty cool, right?

1. Visit their sign up page here.

2. There’s a short questionnaire about your medical history you’ll need to fill out, plus they ask for your phone number. The answers you provide are confidential and are handled in accordance with their privacy policy.

3. There is no cost to take the questionnaire. If you pre-qualify, you will be able to select a research site that is convenient to you. Plus, there’s no obligation to participate even if you pre-qualify. So what have you got to lose? :)

3. Type 2 Diabetes – Earn Up to $1,000

We also just shared a clinical trial we heard about for those suffering with type 2 diabetes.

We don’t have a lot of details about the clinical trial (this is common, because they don’t release details to those who don’t qualify), but we do know it’s being run by Acurian. It’s one of the largest recruiters for clinical trials in the world and is a trusted name in the industry.

If you qualify for the study, you are eligible to receive up to $1,000 in compensation, no-cost medication, and no-cost study-related care for your participation. Read more here.

4. COPD Clinical Trial

COPD or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is a lung disease that can make breathing very difficult and there’s currently a clinical trial happening around the country that’s looking for participants.

If you qualify to participate they’ll pay you a thousand bucks!

Some clinical trials require that you fly to a specific city, but this one can take place at a local doctor in your area.

Here’s the application form.
