Here’s How You Can Actually Make Money Grocery Shopping This Week
Some of the links in this post are from our sponsors. We’re letting you know because it’s what Honest Abe would do. After all, he is on our favorite coin.
If you haven’t noticed, we’re kind of into deal-stacking around here.
By knowing a few tricks, you can cut the cost of almost any purchase — and you don’t even have to clip coupons.
One of the simplest ways to save money shopping online is to use a cash-back site (or shopping portal), which offers cash-back rewards for everything you buy.
If you’ve been on the fence about signing up for any reason, now’s the perfect time to dive in.
This week, one of our favorite cash-back shopping sites, Ebates, is offering triple cash back on all purchases.
How Does Ebates Work?
To earn cash back on all your purchases, go to ebates.com, search for the store or items on your list and shop as you normally would.
You’ll accrue reward points you can redeem for gift cards to major retailers of your choice.
The amount of rewards you’ll earn varies by retailer. We’ve seen up to 7% in some categories at Amazon, 10% at Dell and even special deals like $75 cash back at T-Mobile!
Plus, if it’s your first time at the site, Ebates will give you a $10 bonus just for signing up.
How to Earn Cash Back for Grocery Shopping
Here’s an example of how you can put some extra money in your pocket with Ebates — just for grocery shopping.
1. Set up an Ebates account and shop Sam’s Club online through the portal.
You’ll need a Sam’s Club membership to avoid a surcharge. The best way to become a member without paying the annual fee is to ask a friend or family member to add you to their account.
If you don’t know anyone with a Sam’s Club membership, you may want to sign up yourself. Keep an eye on special offers to nab a discounted membership, free gift card or other deal when you sign up.
2. Earn a $10 bonus gift card for Sam’s Club (or another retailer of your choice).
3. Earn cash back. Ebates offers 1.5% cash back at Sam’s Club.
If you spend $200 per week on groceries for your family, that’s $3 back in your pocket.
4. Bonus tip: Use a cash-back credit card, which could offer 1.5% cash back on all purchases. There’s another $3 for you.
Not a bad way to earn a quick $16, right?
Remember: The triple-cash-back deal is only good August 23-29, so make sure you sign up soon!
