Sutherland, a business process outsourcing company, is hiring work-from-home bilingual customer support representatives. Applicants are required to pass a test proving they are fluent in both English and at least one other language.

After paid training, you’ll answer questions from customers in different languages regarding services and products available or provide technical support via multiple communication channels. You will use your active listening and questioning skills to get to the root of the customers’ problems and resolve their issues.

Bilingual Customer Support Representative at Sutherland

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing customer support using multiple communication channels in different languages
  • Answering inbound calls, chats and emails from customers about technical questions or products and services
  • Educating customers about their products and services
  • Resolving customer issues by using your active listening skills and by asking probing questions
  • Using the company’s internal databases to provide instructions to resolve issues
  • Working with other departments to resolve customer issues, schedule appointments and check request status
  • Following up with customers to ensure their needs are met
  • Attending job-related training
  • Participating in team and individual meetings
  • Staying up-to-date with reference materials, announcements, promotions, changes, specials, policies and other company business

Applicants for this position must:

  • Be fluent in reading, writing and speaking American English and at least one other language
  • Have basic keyboarding skills and be familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook and Excel)
  • Be able to properly diagnose and solve problems
  • Be comfortable multitasking with several computer applications  
  • Have internet speeds of 1Mbps upload and 5 Mbps download, or better (no wireless or satellite internet)
  • Have a hard-wired internet connection between the modem and the computer
  • Have a quiet workplace in your home
  • Have a computer with a dual-core or quad core processor with minimum speeds of 1.6 Ghz, or better (required)
  • Have 4GB of RAM, or more
  • Have 10GB of hard drive space available
  • Have one or more USB ports, 2.0 or greater
  • Have a sound card installed
  • Have Windows 7, 8, 8.1 or 10
  • Have a 20-inch dual monitor setup with a privacy screen
  • Have a wired keyboard and mouse
  • Have a USB, dual-ear headset with a noise-cancelling microphone
