The impending holiday shopping rush means many of us are making gift lists and trying to set aside as much money as possible. For workers, it also means thousands of opportunities for permanent and seasonal positions.
Seasonal jobs can lead to a full-time career, but they can also simply be a smarter way to cover holiday expenses this year. Americans expect to spend an average of $818 on the holidays this year, according to The Penny Hoarder’s 2026 State of Holiday Spending Report.
If you’re looking for a seasonal job, the companies mentioned below are a great place to start.

Earn Quick Cash Outside of Your Seasonal Job

Michaels: Hiring Over 10,000 Seasonal Team Members
The arts and crafts retailer announced in September plans to hire more than 10,000 seasonal workers across the U.S. and Canada this year.
The announcement said seasonal employees can expect competitive wages, flexible hours and a 30% discount. Last year, about half of seasonal workers transitioned to regular roles after the holiday season.

Amazon: Hiring 300,000 for Full-Time, Part-Time and Seasonal Jobs
With more than 1.5 million employees, Amazon is the world’s second-largest corporate workforce. So you know Amazon will be hiring for the holidays.
It announced that for the 2026 holiday season it’s hiring 300,000 seasonal, part-time and full-time workers. In 2025, Amazon hired 250,000 full-time, part-time and seasonal workers.
Some seasonal employees at Amazon get access to health care benefits. Plus, you can access your money right after you finish your shift — no need to wait for payday.

Target: Hiring for Seasonal Jobs, With Many Staying on Full Time
Target is preparing for the holiday shopping rush by hiring seasonal employees across its more than 2,000 stores and 60-plus supply chain facilities.
Seasonal positions include guest services, stocking, fulfillment, food and beverage, beauty, technology and general merchandise. Starting pay ranges from $15 to $24 per hour, depending on the position and location.
Target also offers some appealing perks, including a 10% employee discount, additional discounts on select wellness products and apparel, early pay access and access to virtual health care. Eligibility varies by benefit.
The retailer is prioritizing additional hours for existing employees and its on-demand workforce, so available seasonal openings will vary by location.

UPS: Full-Time and Part-Time Seasonal Jobs
UPS is hiring more than 100,000 seasonal employees across hundreds of locations nationwide for the 2026 holiday season.
Open positions include warehouse workers, package delivery drivers, driver helpers, tractor-trailer drivers and seasonal support drivers. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available, with pay varying by position and location.
One major perk? The hiring process can be incredibly fast. UPS says many applicants can receive a job offer in less than seven minutes. Some seasonal workers may also have the opportunity to transition into permanent positions after the holidays.

Macy’s: Full-Time and Part-Time Seasonal Positions
Macy’s Inc. seasonal positions include those across its Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s and Bluemercury stores, supply chain locations and call centers. The retailer hasn’t announced a specific number of seasonal positions for 2026, but it has announced a need for seasonal workers and is holding hiring events.
The company doesn’t list starting pay for its seasonal jobs. But according to Indeed, seasonal associates at Macy’s are paid between $18 an hour and $25 an hour.
The online application process takes as little as five minutes, and many offers are made within 48 hours.

United States Postal Service: Hiring Seasonal Workers
The United States Postal Service (USPS) said it is now hiring seasonal workers to help with the holiday rush.
Although it hasn’t announced national hiring numbers, there have been regional announcements.
The USPS says starting pay varies based on the job, but mail carriers make around $20.20 per hour, according to Indeed.

Dick’s Sporting Goods: 11,000 Roles for Seasonal Associates
The sporting goods corporate chain announced plans to hire 11,000 seasonal associates for the holidays. Its hiring efforts include positions at Public Lands, Foot Locker, Dick’s House of Sports and Going, Going, Gone! stores across the country.
The company said these teammates would receive competitive pay and an associate discount. According to Indeed, seasonal associates at Dick’s make around $17.90 per hour.

1-800-FLOWERS.COM: Potential Seasonal and Year-Round Positions
The gourmet food and gifts company 1-800FLOWERS.COM and its brands are busy around the holidays. In addition to 1-800-Flowers.com, these brands include Harry & David, PersonalizationMall.com and Cheryl’s Cookies. The company hasn’t announced how many seasonal positions it will hire in 2026, but there are seasonal positions listed on its career page.
According to Indeed, the average pay for seasonal positions at 1-800-FLOWERS.com is $15.50 per hour, though pay will vary by position.

Catalyst Brands: Seasonal Associates at Multiple Retailers
Catalyst Brands, which consists of Aéropostale, Brooks Brothers, Eddie Bauer, Lucky Brand, Nautica and JCPenney, announced it would hire 13,000 roles across its six brands in 2025. The company hasn’t announced numbers for 2026 yet.
Associates can expect flexible schedules, opportunities for advancement and full-time work, and a “generous employee discount.”

Geodis: Seasonal Warehouse Workers
Geodis, a global transport and logistics provider, added around 4,600 workers in the U.S. and Canada ahead of the 2025 holiday season. The company hasn’t announced specific seasonal hiring numbers for 2026, but it does have seasonal listings on its website.
The company is mainly focused on hiring material handlers and equipment operators to work across 11 of its campuses, which hold around 20,000 employees. Part-time and full-time positions are available.
These positions at Geodis typically pay up to $26.46 per hour, according to Indeed. Geodis says it also offers peak premium pay incentives, peak and referral bonuses, and an expedited pay option that allows employees to receive up to 50% of their paycheck before payday.

Kohl’s: Seasonal Store and Distribution Jobs
Kohl’s has seasonal positions available both in its stores and in its distribution centers. It says seasonal associates enjoy flexible schedules, weekly pay and a 15% employee discount.
Seasonal associates will also have access to 15 Kohl’s Wellness Centers, which offer primary care, physical therapy and more. Many past seasonal Kohl’s employees have stayed with the company and built lasting careers.

Bath & Body Works: Potential Seasonal Associate Hiring
Bath & Body Works announced in 2025 that it would hire more than 30,000 seasonal associates in the U.S. and Canada These roles included part-time associates across its 1,900 stores and more than 2,000 roles at its five Ohio distribution centers. No seasonal hiring plans have been specified yet for 2026, but you can search on its website for seasonal positions in your area.
Seasonal Bath & Body Works employees get a whopping 40% discount, flexible scheduling and early access to earned wages.
